FAQs

Do you prototype products?

Unfortunately, we do not do prototyping at this time.  However, we can recommend prototyping services with companies we work with regularly.

Can you shrink wrap small products?

The short answer is yes.  We have a shrink wrap machine we use for many of our Flexiduct packaging options.  Depending on the size of your product, we may be able to provide a post-extrusion shrink wrap option for you.

What are the typical Value Adds or secondary operations you perform?

We have a wide array of value adds. These include co-extrusion, laser etching, fitting insertion, threading, beveling, specialized packaging, and shaping.

Can you print on our products?

Yes! Almost all of our products have some sort of marking, either at the request of our customers, or for us to provide quality date stamps during the production process.  We have laser etchers on each line and can customize exactly what you want printed.

Do you work with early-stage product ideas?

Yes, we work with your engineering team or purchasing department on early-stage products.  However, we are unable to work with individual inventors or entrepreneurs who don’t have the ability to provide drawings, critical dimensions, material specifications and have the corporate structure to support development and distribution.  We are experts in manufacturing plastic extrusion but not in developing and marketing your products.

Do you work with international clients for domestic (US based) distribution?

Yes, we partner with international clients who have US based operations and need a reliable US based partner to manufacture and ship rigid plastic profiles to US locations.

Can you ship to an international location?

The short answer is Yes.  We work with international clients to ship via various methods that work best for them.

What regulatory requirements can you meet?

We are certified to the ISO 9001 standard and work with both domestic and international clients to ensure we meet exacting quality standards.  There are many additional regulatory requirements that we routinely work to meet.  We’ll need to discuss specifically what you require.

Will you help me design my product?

We certainly can give you our opinion on part design that will be the best to optimize production and save you money. This also goes for help with part design that will be the easiest to build quality tooling that is functional and meets your needs. However, in the end, it will be up to you and your engineering partners to ensure you are designing the best part to meet your specific needs.

Will you ship in less-than-truckload (LTL) quantities?

Yes! This is one area that sets us apart from larger extrusion companies.  We don’t force you to take full truckloads or delay orders due to small sized production runs.  We certainly ship in full truckload quantities but have intentionally built our production processes so we can get you what you need, when you need it.  This often means shipping in Less than Truckload (LTL) quantities.

What are your part size limitations?

Our equipment is capable of profiles 6” to 7” in width.  One of the biggest challenges for any plastic extrusion company is the limits on the ‘downstream’ cooling and cutting equipment.

Can you help me choose the right material for our application?

We would love to discuss your project and offer material suggestions based on how the product will be used, and, in what environments. Ultimately, we are not experts in how your product is used ‘in the field’, so the final decision on materials will be in your court. We can provide material specification sheets and put you in touch with material experts.

Can you help us design a specialty pipe or tube?

We work with established companies on helping to ensure your design is optimized for manufacturing. We can source mold tooling that fits our equipment and your type of plastic material. Though we admire the entrepreneurial spirit, we are not set up to help inventors take ideas into production and distribution.

How long are your typical production runs?

As a general rule, we expect about 10,000 to 20,000 feet as an annual minimum but can accommodate 1,000,000+ feet annually on new pipe or tube.  We can work outside of these ranges but the ranges above are the ‘sweet spot’ for us.

Do you do Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)?

We love VMI.  By sharing your real-time inventory (or weekly reports) we can keep you between your minimums and maximums.  This can also be adjusted for your busy and slower seasons.  However, we do not have the space to warehouse large amounts of inventory.  With our short-lead times and regular communication with customers, we have been very successful at keeping clients within their required min-max ranges.

What are the typical plastic materials you work with for flexible profile extrusions?

We have traditionally worked with various durometers of flexible PVC base materials. We also work with similar flexible materials for specific customer applications. Available plastic materials are increasing yearly as new resins are developed for special purposes.
